Itchy clitoris while on period, 7 weeks postpartum?

My vagina felt normal these past 6 weeks until I got on my period about three days ago & now I’m so uncomfortable 🥺 it’s itchy on my clitoris to where I can feel it but I don’t scratch it. Is that normal after birth? What could I do?

I find myself more prone to irritation for those first few periods after baby. Especially when I had to wear a pad. 
I stayed clean and dry as much as I could and TBH used a vaginal itch cream if it got too annoying so it could heal and get better. 
As long as you’re sure you don’t have an infection I think I would try that!

We are very prone to infections after a pregnancy. Maybe it’s an infection. I’ve had 2 babies and stitches with my first but after both i was never itchy. I’d make an appointment if it continues or gets worse.
