Opinion: Safe to buy car seat second hand online?

Hello! Someone in my neighborhood is selling Doona car seat half off... would you buy it? My main concern is WHAT IF the car seat has been in an accident?

I absolutely wouldn’t. You can’t guarantee what has happened to it and the small savings just isn’t worth it to me.

I won’t even take a car seat from my brother in law. Even though he’s responsible and the car seat is an expensive brand, both of his kids used it and the oldest kid is 7, meaning the seat is most likely expired.

I definitely wouldn't because I wouldn't feel safe putting my child in something I'm not 100% sure of the history on it. But that's just me.

Hard no from me. It's generally not recommended because there is no way to tell if it was in an accident. Another factor is it could be expired. And expired car seats are not safe either regardless of it was in an accident or not

No, you never know if it’s been in an awful accident. I would only buy second hand from a direct, close family member.
