I sit normal for your husband to become distant?

I'm having a few issues with my husband lately. For example, I'm 14 weeks pregnant and when I was 5 weeks I found out that we're going to be parents. It was a shock and joy at the same time. However, he has refuse to be sexual with me, open about certain things, and he's also becoming distant from anything dealing with pregnancy. I'm not sure how I am suppose to feel since this is our first child. Please help!

That happened to me. It took time!! We had infertility and needed treatment and so when I got pregnant I was over the moon but my husband wasn't! He was more to himself and whatever. He told me he is worried about it all and i understood. The first sono he ever saw didn't excite him either. Recently he started getting into it more I'm 30 weeks 2 days he started getting excited about baby kicks and stuff since he can see them and my son kicks in response to his voice! So he loves that! 😉it may take time but I think he'll come around!

My husband and I were trying to conceive for over seven months we had many tests done to each other including blood tests, husband had seem analysis and I also had an HSG so after all of this we recently got pregnant also. he was not excited at all when I told him. he actually even got snappy with me I just think men don't think the same way as we do and maybe it's hard for them at first. maybe they just get into shock or just worried I'm sure they will adjust and everything will be just fine and they will get excited just give it time but definitely try to talk to him ... Try talking to him about it? Set up a date night or something... it could be he is nervous or worried about becoming a father. Maybe he's scared? Hope it works out. And congrats on your pregnancy! ♡

The first few weeks my husband was off. He was excited but a little distant. We talked about it and he was worried about money. We made a budget and everything is fine now.

It can be normal. Some guys don't like being intimate, they are either scared of hurting baby or just find it to be a "mind" block. He could be nervous about things and lets face it guys aren't great at expressing feelings. My hubby got better the further we got now really active now that he can feel baby move.

I would recommend talking to him. He may just be processing everything. Men are different than women with the baby thing. He may feel he'll hurt the baby if you do anything sexual. Have you tried going on dates and just focusing on the two of you and not the baby? It can be easy to be baby focused and forget about your partner sometimes. With men they can't really do much, so he may feel like he's just there. I hope things get better.

It can be super normal, yes. My SO got super anxious because he wanted everything to be perfect and it can't be, because that doesn't exist.
For a long time he didn't want to hear about baby stuff much at all, it was too overwhelming for him. 
He has slowly opened up about his feelings and has started to really embrace the idea of being a dad.

Is it normal that your husband keeps his feelings to himself? Many men do, and he may just be processing his big feelings about becoming a father.
You could ask him how he feels about it, or tell him you understand that he needs space, but that you miss him and need his support also. At the very least, you both could plan nice things to do together, and be firm that they need to happen, which will help you feel closer. It can't hurt to work on your friendship :) 
Also, has he been to your appointments, especially the ultrasounds? That often helps.
