Pregnancy test before birth control ?

For the mommas who have gotten their birth control put in already, did your doctor do a pregnancy test first?? 
I know offices are probably different but I’m just curious....
Wondering if I should buy one for home or not. 
I’ll probably call this week to ask too haha

Yes, they will. And I was told no sex for 2 weeks before either.

Mine did but I was getting an iud. Before this baby when I got an iud they also did a test.

They said they were but didn’t but I also had not had sex

I think she understood how traumatized I was and knew I hadn’t let anything touch there 😂 (I made a lot of “jokes” - they were really not jokes 🤭)

Yes, I went in on Friday and mine did. I think it’s pretty standard procedure. It was the scariest experience of my life. I had a false positive, we think due to having a UTI. I had to have a blood test (which came back negative, thankfully) and go back Monday to get my nexplanon inserted.
