Feeding questions

Brittany

Hi moms, I’m a FTM, baby girl Lilly is 2 weeks and 4 days. I’m feeling like I’m doing something wrong with her feedings... her last doctors appt was 6 days apart from the previous and she didn’t change in her weight. So I guess it’s good that she didn’t lose any weight. But the fact that she didn’t gain is stressing me out.

As of yesterday I thought my supply was really good. I’ve been feeding about every 2 hours during the day. I don’t wait the full 3 hours anymore. And she’s always willing to eat. But at night she’s so hard to wake up, or I should stay hard to keep her awake. I’ve changed her, kept her clothes off of her and just kept her diaper on, changed feeding positions and breasts, even got a washcloth and tried wiping her forehead. But at night it’s like she eats for 5 minutes and then she just wants to sleep. It’s like I’m up for an hour just trying to get her to feed for 15-20 min. It’s exhausting but I know how important each feeding is. And especially bc she didn’t gain weight at her last appointment. I don’t want to cut down any feedings bc I don’t want to have to switch to formula.

Last thing, I was pumping usually around 3 times a day... One time in the morning after I feed her, and then probably another two times throughout the day/evening probably an hour after I feed her. I was getting anywhere from 2 to 3 1/2 ounces. Now as of last night I’m not even getting a whole ounce! I don’t know if I just have to change the times that I’m pumping, or if my milk supply is going away? My baby seems full and satisfied after I feed her for 15 minutes on each breast at each feeding and I can hear her gulping an even seen milk in the corner of her mouth. She has enough wet and soiled diapers. I don’t know if it’s just the stress that’s affecting me or if I’m going to have a problem with my milk supply. Maybe I just need to give it a day or two and see.
