IUD & pregnancy

Hey ladies, mother of two here with a question for you.

This is my first time using an IUD. I got it in January. It’s the copper IUD Paraguard that’s supposed to last 10 years.

Well quick note, I just started taking zinc picolinate and if you’re also on this birth control I recommend it! I started getting really bad acne (I mean REALLY BAD) and feeling so exhausted. Turns out you’re supposed to take this supplement to help your body deal with the copper inside you. Without the supplement you can develop cystic acne, fatigue, and other bad symptoms. My Dr is AMAZING, I love him, but he did fail to mention that to me.

But anyway, my question here is...have any of y’all gotten pregnant on this IUD? I’ve read lots of stories of IUD’s failing but most of the stories I read are about are on the Mirena IUD which is completely different.

I ask because my cycles were pretty regular, extremely heavy actually. But my last period was very light and now I’ve missed two of them. Has anyone experienced this? Missed periods but been fine? Or did anyone have a successful pregnancy? Obviously I’m on birth control because we’re not trying, but it also wouldn’t be the end of the world if we were to have one more. I’ve read about ectopic pregnancies or miscarriages happening when they remove the iud. So I’m curious about anyone’s experience.
