Witchcraft and Then Church??

Question

-- First off, I'm SOOOO excited for Samhain!! I have a full day planned with foods, rituals and prayer. For those of you who don't know, this is Halloween. It's the holiest day of the year for many Witches (probably for most). 
-- But my parents have invited me to their church session the morning after. I'm not against their religion, but I just feel I don't belong there. Plus I have to work later on that day. Ultimately I'll make my own decision on it. 
-- What I'm curious about though is how you feel about celebrating your holiest day of the year being a Witch (complete with several rituals), and then going to church the next morning. It seems odd to me. But I wanna know what you guys think of it. Pagans and Christians alike.

I don't even understand why Christians celebrate Halloween. It makes no sense to me. Like 'we hate the devil but here let's all dress up like Satan and threaten people till they give us candy for fun'. Sorry it just really bugs me. As you know, the bible says a person cannot slave for the table of God and the table of demons. Halloween is a serious double standard that would make God angry.
(I'm not talking about you Rhea, I mean people who are Christian that participate). 
Personally I wouldn't attend that Mormon thing you are invited to. It seems really awkward and its not something you believe in.

Just figured I'd wrap this post up. I decided not to go to church with my folks. I'm doing a lot more for the holiday this year than I did last year and the year before, and it just felt like it'd be awkward to go.

As a Christian, I don't think anything of it! Go if you want, don't if you don't. Your presence with your parents isn't an acquiescence to any belief or ritual of the church - it would be one chosen expression of love to your parents that morning to be with them in a context that is meaningful to them. You are (of course) totally free to show love differently if that way doesn't feel good that morning.

This is a classic example of what people consider Halloween. I myself am a Christian, I do not celebrate the devil, so people are always saying, "oh it's jus a little fun for the kids, it has nothing to do with the devil or anything evil." You just said it's the holiest day for witches. Are you guys not celebrating the devil?! Not hating just fascinating to me that people who are not witches or satanists don't think there's anything wrong with Halloween when here you are clearly saying what it is. I may be wrong, but would you please explain to me why exactly do you consider it the holiest day? Sorry, in regards to your question, you don't have to do anything you don't want to do. God always finds His lost sheep, not necessarily in church. :)

I'm Pagan, much to my parents' dismay, but was raised a cradle Catholic. I occasionally attend Mass as I enjoy it and miss it, even though I'm not Christian anymore. I do retain some Christian beliefs, and I plan on having an Advent wreath and going to Mass at least once during Advent this December. I feel comfortable there, but as the Christian God and other Catholics would find it offensive, I don't take Communion.

It would only be an issue if it was against your beliefs. Church obviously doesn't fit in with your beliefs l, but if it isn't offensive to them and you want to, do it.
