Do you feel you are solely responsible for yourself ?

I was reading the other post, about rehabilitations in our prison system. Which just in case your wondering. I am 100% in support of, even for drug users, people convicted of sexual assault, and murder.. *gasp* because in reality at some point these people are released back into society, the society I live, work and plan to raise children. AND fun fact approximately 4.1% of those in the criminal system are falsely convicted anyways. 
There were a few comments on the post though, that triggered this question: 
Do you think you are solely responsible for you, your immediate family and everyone/thing else “isn’t your problem”? Or do you feel accountability to the decisions like the rehabilitation one?

I don’t feel like I’m “responsible” exactly, but I definitely think people should look out for each other when they have the time and ability to. The world would be a pretty shitty place if we only cared about ourselves and our immediate relatives. Plus, it’s in everyone’s benefit to have a healthy community

I think you should rephrase your title question. I am responsible for me, my family, & my decisions. However, as answer to your question in the post, we as humans are responsible for everyone in our race. Abandoning someone should only be a last resort after we've done everything we can.

I mean me personally I feel each person is responsible for themselves 🤷🏼‍♀️ but I guess I didn’t see the other post so not exactly sure what it’s about but I do know that most of my family members have been in and out of prison and it’s no ones fault but their own my cousin literally got out of prison about 4 or 5 months ago and he’s back in there cause he got high and stole a truck and ran from the cops so I feel responsible for him? Absolutely not do I feel bad for him? Nope he is a grown man capable of making his own choices

I’m responsible for myself, my kids and my husband.  That’s it.  That being said, I’m a good person and will always help others and try to do what’s best for everyone.  Even though others are not mine to take care of.  Not everyone has someone looking out for them unfortunately.  So I’ll still do what I can.

Yes, ultimately I am responsible for myself. But I owe it to society to be altruistic and follow general consensus and societal rules. Unless of course its harmful to my daughter or I.

I feel a sense of accountability beyond just my immediate family. I feel I have a responsibility as a member of a democratic society to vote for societal changes that will benefit people other than myself.

Oh no I misinterpreted the question. The only person responsible for you is you. How you behave and think and act is on you as are the consequences from them that happen to others is on you too. Many people for a variety of different reasons can’t self regulate simple emotions. Now their want to get better is 100% on them. But if resources aren’t there and all they have to get better is a system that just cycles the bad behaviour then their efforts aren’t going to reach potential. So yes you are responsible solely for yourself but that doesn’t mean you can ignore your impact on others. It means your impact is also part of your self responsiblity

i’m responsible for my actions and how i choose to react but i’m not always responsible for what people do onto me. for example- if my boyfriend cheats on me and i’m very upset and decide to cry well i’m responsible for my feelings but i’m not responsible for being upset (if that makes any sense). people trigger you to do things and it’s not always up to how you react.

I know I am responsible for myself and my family. I don’t believe it is anyone else’s responsibility to make sure they have their needs met.
I am also a taxpayer and voting citizen, which means I have a certain amount of obligation to pay towards public services that support and protect my family (school, government, first responders, public infrastructure, and yes, judicial systems that deal with those who break laws). I have money taken from my paycheck that keeps those systems afloat and I vote in ways that impact how decisions are made in those systems.. it’s not a responsibility so much as an obligation and expectation of living in a community and organized country.
I personally believe in giving charitably to causes I believe in that better our community, but currently rehabilitation is not on my personal list of priorities. If there came a time where my immediate family needed more financial support, I would have to reduce my charitable giving. I believe people should invest independently in causes that are important to them
