Birth Plan?

Question

Do you have one? What are your expectations about how much of the plan will be implemented? 
First birth that I don’t really have a plan or expectations about. Kinda just want to wing it and go with the flow. 
Only request if possible is delayed cord clamping and instant skin to skin/nursing.

I've never bothered with a birth plan. The only thing I stressed to my docs was NO episiotomy! Luckily I make small babies so my docs never felt the need to go against that one wish.

I didn’t stress over the plan. I knew I didn’t want IV pain meds. And I wanted to go as long as I could handle it without the epidural. (Made it 16 hours). Other than that, I wanted to be open to what may have needed to be done in the moment. It took so much stress off worrying about sticking to a plan. You never know what may happen. Go with the flow.

I didn’t have a birth plan for my first but for my second I’m planning everything. I know how I don’t want it to go now. I am not giving birth in a hospital next time. I was not allowed to labor how I would have wanted to. I had to be in the bed the whole time. There was nothing wrong with me or my baby. I’m going 100% unmedicated, water birth at a natural birthing center next time. I’m just going to let my body take control. No forced pushing, no one rushing me to get the baby out.

I’m having a scheduled c section so I don’t get a whole lot of control. Husband will cut the cord if he wants and then we’ll be doing skin to skin (I didn’t get to last time).

I'm just winging it. This will be my 4th birth. Winging it is by far the best mind-set for me to go I with. I'm open to whatever the nurse feels I need to do and I don't get upset. My baby being healthy is the number one priority for me.

I had a birth plan and I’m pretty sure none of it was followed. You never know what your birth will be like. I think your two preferences are fine, but of course be open to the idea that it could not happen and you’ll be fine.
