When you do announce your babies name on social media?

We are 98% sure of our little girls name and I don’t really want anyone of the 5 other pregnant girls I know to use it so do I put it out there that that’s our babies name or do I keep it to myself? 
* Also  I don’t want anything that has the name monogrammed on it just Incase for some strange reason we change our mind at the last minute.

The fact is, even if you announce your daughters name now, the other mums can still use it. You don’t own the name and if someone else likes it and chooses it, you just have to deal.

I had two names for my son and didn’t choose until he was born, so when I announced his birth I also announced his name

We wait to announce anymore. We don’t actually use like FB n stuff, but we actually had a family member that wanted our name so badly- she was telling everyone that she chose it first. I was crushed bc she was due before us. (But everyone else in the family knew we had the name picked out for years!) and thankfully, she ended up having a girl. 😝 (and named her piper!) so it worked out anyways! I think it’s one thing to end up with the same name as someone else, even around the same time... but at every Holiday and family get together? No.. my dad and his dad were fighting and not speaking and now 30 years later my cousin Britany and I (Brittney) have the same damn name!! Two of the same name in our close family is enough for me! 😉

Regardless if it’s posted or not, the name can still be taken after the baby is born. It’s just a name lol

I never announced until birth. My sister knew and posted it and I was PISSED😂 I’ve never met another kid named Adalynn. But the girl in my town who gets around alot🙄 named her kid that too cause she commented on my sisters post saying that’s a pretty name. Still mad at my sister for that 😂

Don't post til birth people don't know how special it is to us when we have a name picked put and then someone else comes around and goes oh I like that namenits mine now and you always have to see that person around . A random stranger is no big deal but friends and family it's insensitive.

you don’t own the rights to a baby name. post it if you want or don’t. it doesn’t matter. but being mad that someone “stole” your babies name is dumb. your baby is never going to be the only baby with her name. 🤷🏻‍♀️
