They just hit my car from the back. It wasnt a big hit but my car’s paint came off. i’m 5 months pregnant and i got really nervous, so i accidentally gave her my information too. She gave me hers, but i called the insurance but it’s closed. So i have to wait till monday, but im scared that she will call first and say something that is not true. What can i do? there no police report bc it wasnt a big deal. HELP PLEASE
**UPDATE: i was able to get in touch with the insurance and i made the accident report. I asked about her having my info and they said that it’s okay. It wont affect me. Thank you all for your replies!!

Okay first rule... ALWAYS CALL THE POLICE. Because now she can say stuff that’s not true because there’s no report proving it wrong... and she can also just deny she hit you and you’ll have to pay for the damage out of pocket

If they hit you from the back. It’s their fault regardless(in the state of Texas at least) even if she files first, when you explain, The insurance company will figure it out. I was hit a few weeks ago and my car was completely covered as well as my rental. It was $4,500 worth of damage and they fixed it completely for free. It fucked the under part of my trunk up.

You need a police report sometimes. I'd call and file it, some insurance company's use the findings in the report to make a decision.

My car was parked in my work parking lot while I was working and one of the managers backed into my car. I got a copy of her insurance card, called her insurance to file a claim against her insurance since she hit my car and they took care of it. No police report filed, they paid for everything including my rental. If I were you, I would call exactly at the time that they open and file a claim against the other persons insurance. It’s pretty easy so don’t worry, nothing complicated. But find out when her insurance company opens on Monday, set an alarm and call exactly at that time. Everything will get taken care of. Also if you are concerned and need to go get checked out I’m pretty sure insurance will cover your hospital bill!
