Is it ok to drink wine while pregnant?

So my friend drunk wine while she was pregnant and my other friend said it was ok because it wasn’t hard liquor. Is it ok?

There has been no amount of alcohol proven to be “safe” while pregnant. But there have been many studies showing that alcohol in general is not safe for a fetus. If someone can not abstain from alcohol for the duration of their pregnancy they should speak with their doctor about alcoholism.

No it isn’t safe! My doctor even told me to avoid any desserts with possible alcohol based syrups. Such as rum in certain banana cheese cakes I love, etc.

Nope. No amount of alcohol is proven safe. Doesn't matter if it's hard liquor or not. Obviously the same amount of hard liquor would be worse because it has more alcohol...but wine still has alcohol

My Dr said a few sips here and there are ok but no more than half a small glass (which is not the same as filling the glass half way because a glass of wine is really half an actual glass) but no you can't just drink whatever you want because alcohol is alcohol regardless of the type.
