Engagement and contractions

Do you ladies think when baby engages that that can cause contractions? What I felt was initial cramping in my pelvic area across the whole area and then I could feel my belly tighten & at its peak it felt like a lot of pressure in my back ( not pain just pressure)

The pain was in my pelvic area and it felt almost constant but got worse with the tightening.

It lasted a little over an hour coming every 2 minutes and once I got home and showered they went away

When I had my first, I had nothing but back labor and got ZERO contractions until I was IN labor and my waters had already broke so not exactly sure.
