Old one but it keeps popping up in my mind now that im pregnant
My son was born in 2017. At my 39+3 appointment my OB told me at my next (if I made it) she would so a s&s. My labour started at 40weeks. Not terrible contractions but enough where I couldn't sleep. The next day my mom and sister spent the day with me because they wanted to be there in the case of a hospital trip. We spent the day walking, doing my 15 flights of stairs. Nothing. The next day they started getting worse, called labour and delivery like 6 times. Gave me some tips and told me when to come in.
So labour started monday, and it's now Wednesday. It's about 10pm, i go pee, lost what I think was my mucous plug, and started bleeding. Off to the hospital we go. It was only about 10 minutes away but in that 10 minutes the contractions become unbearable. I got there, they got me checked. I was 7cm. Asked if I wanted an epidural I said yes, they rushed to get me prepped before it was too late. Few hours later, they break my water. I'm 9cm. Few hours later, like 6 people came in. I guess my sons heart rate was dropping as low as 12bpm. They said they can give a section, or we could monitor closely and if need be they would rush me in. This was just after 6am. This was my rainbow baby, and after what felt like a million hours if labour, I decided a c section might be best.
All I remember is them throwing stuff at my SO to change into and wheeling me out. We got into the operating room where they had to switch from.epidural to spinal. Let me just say you women who do this natural are heroes LOL. Worst couple minutes of my life. Next thing I know they pull my son in view. Literally less then 30 minutes i was taken to operating room, got ready and they got him out. He was healthy. Needed 10 minutes of oxygen and 10 minutes of cpap. they let SO cut the cord, and then after they were done doing what they were doing they gave me my son and off we went. My mom was waiting outside and you could literally see the relief when she saw us lol.
Figured because I'm going for scheduled section (as long as baby doesn't have plans of their own), I'm not going to have much of a birth story, so wanted to share this one!
