Don't have any friends in college

I don't have any friends besides my roommates, but even then we argue. I don't live on campus since I'm at a community college and they don't have one. I don't have time for clubs or anything so I don't know how to make friends. My boyfriend was my only friend and best friend for a while after I went to college, but he just left for the air force so I'm feeling lonely since he was the only one I talked to. I'm not a very social person and will feel awkward just asking someone to hang out or to be my friend. I don't know what to do.
