When did you pump?

I was told to wait 3 weeks until I start pumping. The thing is I feel like I can start pumping now and storing it for later at 2 weeks. When did you start pumping? I don't plan on bottle feeding just yet but maybe I can pump right after she eats and store it?

I started pumping at birth because LO was in the nicu.  I did have a massive oversupply for a while.  You can start now and if you feel like it’s too much then slow down.

Pumping on top of feedings will create an oversupply. That’s why they suggest not pumping until later.

The nurse had me pump in the hospital to get my supply up as LO was losing more weight than average. Now I pump maybe twice a week. EBF and I am a stay at home mama.

You can start pumping now but it will most likely create and oversupply. If you do get an over supply, just slowly cut down on pumping time for example, if you pump for 15 minutes cut down to 10 minutes. It will make the over supply go away over time.

They gave me a madela manual pump in the hospital and said go for it. I got home and around day 3 I tried my madela electric pump and have been using it ever since. Almost a year now

Dont start pumping yet, instead use a haaka while you feed. I got a large stash that way!
