Will breastmilk help my daughter get over being sick?

My 4 year old was diagnosed with strep today, I do not have it and she is no longer breastfed but I am breastfeeding and pumping for her little sister. If I gave my 4 year old some of my pumped milk would it help her get over it faster?

I 100% think breast milk is magic.... I doubt it would hurt her.

It almost certainly won't make it worse. Even if you don't have strep, you may still have some antibodies for it that could be passed through your milk.

I personally think it would help. My son was born during flu season and was breast fed for 16 months. He was in full time daycare from 10 weeks on. He had 1 cold that entire time (I had at least 3, he didnt catch a single one from me) and it didnt happen until he was a year old. He still is sick less frequently than any other of the kiddos he is with in daycare (all but 1 were formula fed babies). When he does get sick, it only lasts about three days usually. I full heartedly believe his excellent immune system got its start from EBF. Also, if you are around her and she is sick you may be producing extra antibodies against what she has by now. Definitely worth a shot and even if it doesnt work, it wont hurt her. I hope she feels better soon!!!
