TTC coming off of BC (active pills only)

Recently had laparoscopy and found out I have endo doctor wants me to immediately try to conceive. Problem is I’ve been on BC active pills only to stop periods since August so things are all wonky from surgery still experiencing some bleeding and idk if my period came during the last 2 weeks (they said anesthesia could cancel out BC) so when do I start doing ovulation tests, and should they be done daily or every other day? I’m completely new to all of this so any advice is greatly appreciated.
