Anyone else with an extremely difficult baby?

My 4-month-old baby cries all the time - basically since she was born. She is just so fussy and unhappy. Family and friends are so eager to look after my son but not even my mom wants to help me with this baby. My anxiety is through the roof because of the constant crying.
Anyone else?
And anyone with older kids who were once difficult babies - what are they like now? Am I doomed for life?

I have a High Needs (aka super needy) son. He's almost 4 months now, and it's better but still very much there, mainly bc I've figured him out. It wasn't reflux, some of it was gas but that is uncommon for him, wasn't colic... he just wants to be with someone 24/7 and will not tolerate anything else. We bedshare (mainly out of necessity, we follow Safe Sleep 7 and all that) because he will, at any time left to sleep by himself, wake back up within 15 minutes and start crying again. Still does it now, lol. I couldn't sustain it and was falling asleep in dangerous situations, so that was a solution that worked for us. Additionally, I breastfeed him on demand and check his diapers regularly, as both of those things (hunger/dirty diaper) make him grouchy. I also limit activities (playtime or outdoor excursions) at the first signs of tiredness to avoid any issues there. Carriers work great for us too. As time passes he does seem to be improving as now he will play with toys and whatnot with us nearby without protest and also is a lot smilier of a baby. Sooo, I hope/pray he will grow out of it just fine. Best of luck with your little one, but make sure to talk to the pediatrician to rule out any medical reason for their grouchiness!

🙋‍♀️ Mine son has only started this last month and has gotten worse as the days go by.. He won't ever let me put him down or he will scream like something bad is happening he doesn't want anyone to hold him but me I don't know what to do!!!
I love you son but let me put you down while I go toilet... I would also like a feed at least once a day 😭

Yep! Since day 1. I exclusively breastfeed and completely cut every trace of dairy in my diet 3 weeks ago and she has since stopped screaming 80% of the day. Although she’s definitely high needs... always has to be moving, way fussier than all my friends little ones, we cosleep because it’s literally the only way we both get some sleep, she hates being restricted in her car seat, etc. We go to baby groups and my friends babies just chill on the floor mat and I spend the entire time bouncing/swaying/moving about the room with her in my arms because it’s the only way to keep her settled. She also has major separation anxiety and won’t let anyone hold her except for me. It’s extremely exhausting..  but knowing I’m not alone is getting me through. If you’re on Facebook, there’s a group for fussy/high needs babies, and reading posts on there daily from fellow fussy baby moms has literally saved my sanity time and time again.

This was my girl until she was about 8 weeks old. She screamed day and night and never slept. 
Are you breastfeeding? If so, make sure there's not a food allergy issue for your babe. Once I dropped dairy she got so much better. 
Also, my girl had horrible reflux and Omeprazole helps a lot. 
If she's on formula, maybe try a different kind in case she's in pain with a belly ache. 
Also gripe water helped us.
My girl is so much happier now but it was a solid 2 months of extreme crankiness. Which left me feeling like I couldn't leave her with people bc I was afraid they wouldn't be able to handle it. 
Hang in there mama. I can promise you it will get better.

Gripe water has been a life savor for us (especially the nighttime one with chamomile in it) Calms our LO right down and he loves the way it tastes, always tries to eat the syringe 😂

Have you talked to a doctor about it? That much fussiness seems unusual, especially if it’s not getting better as she gets older.
That said— my sister was a very fussy baby, cried constantly until she was at least six months old and never slept. She was the first kid and it was really hard on my parents!! My dad would drive her around for hours while she screamed just so my mom could get a break at home. But she grew up to be a lovely, sweet, very smart kid and adult. And my parents had two more kids after that so they must have decided that it was worth it despite all the crying 😂
