This may be the wrong place but I’ve posted in the STD groups and no one ever replies. I’ve been so stressed and anxious a reply would help.

I just tested positive for HSV1 however it caused genital herpes which I only thought HSV2 did that. So I am lucky it is just HSV1. However this has been the absolutely worst week. This is my first break out and it’s the most painful thing ever and is taking forever to go away even with my prescribed meds.

So I slept with a guy 2 weeks ago and the week after I started getting weird symptoms down there so I decided to see my gyno this past week which is when the tests were confirmed. My dr told me it had to be from that guy because the symptoms come 5-7 days after the intercourse or oral which both was fine. I haven’t slept with anyone in a few months before. So when I told him he said he was tested a month prior and he was fine. But i sAid either one of us could of had a cold sore unknowingly and contracted it. He said he’s going to get tested again but he’s upset and won’t talk to me.

I’m still trying to wrap my head around it and even tho I know it’s very common. I just don’t want to be looked at disgusted or I’m scared of my future. If you have this how did you go about dating in the future and telling new partners?

I’ve just been so depressed and feeling so alone any advice would be much appreciated.
