Water Broke? 39 Weeks 4 Days

I have a question. So last night i was in the bathroom running my shower water I sat down to pee & I just sat for like 5 mins i stood up to go get in the shower & a gush of fluid started running down my leg & I was like I know I'm not peeing on my self but I just wasn't sure I was already having mild cramping but it was bearable so I laid down after I got out the shower & no signs of anymore fluid came out

Being as far along as you are, you need to go in to labor and delivery to get checked.

It’s a good idea to get it checked out. I know they didn’t want me to go past a certain amount of hours because it’s a risk for infection.

My midwife told me that if I’m ever concerned with the amount of possible discharge coming out to pee, make sure I get all the pee out. Wipe, stand up and wiggle around. If after that liquid is still coming out and it’s running down your leg then you need to head to labor and delivery just to be on the safe side. She also told me that only 2/10 women will have their water break before they are in active labor so to always tear by doing that first before deciding it’s no big deal or going to the hospital.

I would also head to labor and delivery! Sounds like your babe could be on the way! I had a very similar experience with my first, I peed twice and still felt I had to, stood up out of bed and a gush of something ran down my leg, we went to hospital and waited 3 hours to get checked and confirmed that my waters did break !
