Do you have to get your membrane stripped?? What do they do?

No. Not at all necessary just an option. They insert two fingers and basically grab and sweep the outer layers around your uterus. This is what I understand. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong ladies. :)

Certainly not. You don't have to do anything your doctor recommends, though a lot of it is a good idea, and getting your membranes stripped will only speed up the onset of labor a little if you were already about to go into labor. Look up what the risks and benefits are.

No you don't have to. It just makes you go into labor sooner but doesn't always work. Yes it feels weird you get kind of crampy and pressure but it subsides. They stripped mine but I didn't go into labor until 2 wks later.
