So I had unprotected sex with someone and afterward we got tested together and me and him came back clean. Because I read you should wait a while I tested again 50 days later (7 weeks). It came back negative. I was told to re-test after 3 months so when I went to the doctors to test again they asked me have I had sex since the last time I was tested. I told them no. They asked why I wanted to be tested again I told them because I didn’t wait three months. The doctor looked at me and said there’s no need to test again if after almost 2 months it came back negative and you haven’t had any new partners.

Should I just listen to her?
