I want to do weight lifting

So I want to start excersising, but I don't know where to start. I would like to do weight lifting so I can gain some muscle because I look like a stick and would like not to anymore.

However, I haven't done any excersising in god knows how long. The max I do is take my dogs on walks. I can't even do a push up. I have no idea where to start.

For anyone who might have been like me, where did you start? How did you get to doing what you do, and enjoying it at that?
