I was so nervous for this appointment so I wanted to share my experience with others who haven’t had theirs yet. Firstly, yes it is painful.... but it isn’t so painful that you would feel sick or blackout. It definitely was not as painful as getting an IUD. The process was 2 fingers inserted very very deep while his other hand pushed the baby downward. So there was downward pressure from baby and upward pressure from fingers. It was very uncomfortable but nothing as bad as I was expecting. Best part is it was quick, probably 30 seconds total. Not sure about bleeding yet because I literally just finished the appointment. Just wanted to share my honest experience with others who may have been scared too. Also, he said my cervix was very posterior and completely closed. He was unable to get even 1 finger in.
