Listen to your gut

Sarah

So yesterday nothing was out of the ordinary, I was 33+6 so I went to work as normal, about 10:30 I started having pain it almost felt like round ligament pain so I brushed it off, about an hour later it had gotten worse and I had started cramping with it. This being my first baby I thought I was overreacting and almost went home but something told me something wasn’t right so I went on to the OB ER to get checked out. Thank God I did!! I was having contractions 2-4 minutes apart, and when they checked me I was 1 1/2 cm dilated and 80% effaced. I live an hour from the hospital, I have a feeling had I went home instead my baby would have been born. Now I get to stay in the hospital for two nights to confirm I’m not progressing after the procartia they gave me. They’ve given me one round of steroids and I get another later today to help babies lungs, when people tell you “oh you’ll know when you’re having contractions” it isn’t true! I mean it may be true for some people but it wasn’t true for me so if you get that gut feeling go ahead and go in because it could turn out to be worth going in for!!
