Do you ever regret naming your child something popular?

Considering a name that is very popular, we have always loved it. There is really no name that can top it for us. Did you name your child a popular name ans regret if later?

Nope! He was meant to have that name since day one. Doesn’t matter how many other people have it, it fits him perfectly.

Yes. My oldests name is Rylee. She has 3 more in her class. 2 boys and a girl. Every sports team shes been on has been full of them. All different spellings.

The one name my husband and I both loved for a boy was Leo, but it’s a lot more common now than we realized. I’ve met two Leo’s within the past two weeks alone! We want something more unique and original, even though we still love the name. We considered longer versions (Leonardo, Leonidas, etc) and just calling him Leo, but meh.

Nope named my daughter Ellie Violet. Ellie is pretty popular on baby lists but i have never actually met another Ellie and I have taught preschool for 10 years.

I have a very popular 80s name and hated it growing up. Not my name itself but that it was so popular. There were always 2-3 others in my class and I was always Tiffany W. to distinguish from the others which was annoying.
That being said I don’t mind it now. But I definitely would steer clear of naming my child a popular name now.

My daughters name is Mia. When I gave her that name I wasn’t aware it was becoming so popular so I’m a little worried. I didn’t want a super common or uncommon name. Something in between, and we run into other Mia’s at parks and play areas regularly. She isn’t in any classes yet so I’m not really seeing yet if she will have multiples in her classes. We will see. I love the name and it suits her beautifully, but i would like her not to be one of three or four in her group. Another Mia here and there is fine, but more than that is too much and I’ll regret naming her Mia. I gave her the middle name Eisley though, and I don’t call her that a good bit so she’s used to being called that. So she could always defer to being called Eisley in her class

My son has a very unusual name (although I forget it I'd until someone comments) his name is  Rayven there a Reuben in his class and the teachers always confusing the two names. So even when you use an unusual name it doesnt help them stand out! His name doesn't stand out against the variety in the class. So common or popular they all mix together
