Skin flare ups

So I’ve had problematic skin all my life, but recently I’ve been having these huge recurrent flare ups of... God knows what, all over my torso and completely covering my back (the flare ups are worse there but I do not know how to get a decent picture of it). I have no idea what it is, and every remedy I’ve tried has not solved the problem, only alleviated it slightly and temporarily. Does anyone have a clue of whats going on?
