Noobie Alert: What the heck do contractions feel like?

First time mom here, I see everyone talking about contractions and Braxton Hicks and at 33 +4, I still have no idea what they feel like. 
Most discomfort I’ve felt is pain from my son stretching around in tender areas or hip and back pain. The only cramps I’ve felt were due to a need to use the restroom. 😂😅
I’m kind of nervous that I won’t know I’m in labor, as silly as that sounds. Is this normal?

I’m sure it’s normal for some people to not have Braxton Hicks. But trust me, you will know when you have labor contractions!!!

I’m a first time mom as well and I was having the exact same thoughts! I’ve had no pain no swelling no issues at all other than heartburn so I was afraid I wouldn’t know when I go into labor! 🤦🏻‍♀️ I feel silly for thinking that but how should we know what it’s going to feel like?

They feel like period cramps and your stomach will get tight and contract when it’s happening. For me, I was having contractions with no pain for days before they actually induced me to get out my son at 40+5 the first time around. Might have been Braxton Hicks 🤔 but either way, they weren’t painful for me until maybe 6 hours after being induced-32 hours total until I actually have birth. Let’s hope this guy comes in time because I’m already over this lol.
