Can I ask about vaccinations here?

Question

Since all of this vaccine stuff has been going around, there are many anti-vaxers and many who always vaccinate. What are your thoughts? 
Did you? Will you? 
Did you decide against one but get another? 
I don’t know what to do. Some of them scare me and the thought of not getting any scare me. 
I’m not trying to sound weird or be “that” girl but this is my first pregnancy. I’m 37 weeks and I don’t know what to do when it comes to this. I was hoping some outside opinions would help. 
I’ve looked up stories. I’ve looked up what they get when they’re born and within the first year. I tried to make sense of what was in them and why it was necessary but it started to overwhelm me and quite frankly it started to scare the crap out of me.
Also can you NOT be rude?

I have a medically fragile child who could not be vaccinated with a normal schedule. I will fully vaccinate myself, & other children to help protect the one who can’t be on the same schedule. I wish everyone thought this way. Unless medically necessary I don’t understand why people don’t vaccinate.

The risk of your child suffering from a vaccine reaction is minute, and the risk of them getting ill if they aren’t vaccinated is pretty high. Further, I would rather risk my child having some sort of allergic reaction than dying a terrible, painful, preventable death. To me it’s a no-brainer.

All vaccinations for both myself and my girls. I’d rather then have a little bit of a fever and be fussy for 8 hours than get one of the deadly illnesses that I could easily vaccinate against.

Personally, I am totally for my kids getting all of their vaccines. However, when we had a consultation with the pediatrician we plan to use we asked about a modified schedule and not doing more than 2-3 vaccines per appointment and she was ok with that.

Vaccinated, no questions about it. The reason so many anti-vaccers’ children feel safe from certain diseases is in fact because vaccines have worked for the past 50 years. Facts are facts. Many infant & child deaths have been prevented because vaccines work. So they are reaping the benefits of vaccines without acknowledging that they work. If we were to go back in time when there were no vaccines or they were just coming out, i bet each parent would give away a kidney to have their kid vaccinated in order to prevent a death.
Unfortunately many people out there still believe many myths about vaccines & read blogs instead of credible scientific sources. We have to use discretion when consuming information esp from the inteenet- they are all not created equal. Just cuz its on the first page of google doesnt make it true.

This is a serious and important conversation you should have with your pediatrician if you are deciding against, or modifying, your child’s vaccination schedule.

Anti-vaxxers won’t be commenting on here because they(we?) get bashed constantly. But I’m prepared to turn off notifications after I post this. 
We started to vaccinate my son, he got his first two shots. Both times he ended up very sick and it was clear that his body couldn’t handle them. We decided to put off vaccinating until he was a year old and his body was stronger. In that time we did a ton of research, spoke to so many doctors and nurses, in the end we decided not to vaccinate ourselves or our children. We will continue to do research on it, as it is scary not knowing what could happen WITH and without vaccinating. Just do what you feel is right. Get your baby their first shots and see how it makes you feel, watch how/if they react to the vaccines and go from there.

We are vaccinating but doing a delayed schedule. My sister had reactions twice with her shots as a baby, stopped breathing both times, and because they did so many at once they didn’t know what cause the allergic reaction and she couldn’t ever get any more. By doing 1 or 2 at a time we will be able to continue to vaccinate even if she has a reaction to one of them, since we know which one caused the reaction!
