Runny/Stuffy Nose

What is the BEST medicine to give my one year old for a runny nose and for when it becomes stopped up.

Also for my seven year old, his nose becomes stopped up at night and i have no clue why. Currently i’ve been rubbing vick’s on his chest and thinking of getting a humidifier to help him breathe better at night. What is the best medicine that will clear his congested nasals?

and i prefer NOT to use any kind of nasal spray on either of them.
