My baby girl is almost 10 weeks. She won’t take a pacifier. I wouldn’t mind if she doesn’t like pacifiers, but a lot of the time, she’s looking to suck with her mouth even when she’s not hungry. She sucks on her own hands like crazy now, whdih I know is normal and this stage and they’re exploring. But she will also suck on our fingers or knuckles if put in front of her when she’s in one of these moods. She seems to be looking to suck for the sake of soothing. We have tried so many pacifier brands (mam, dr browns, Nanobebe, avent soothie, avent ultra air, and I think nuk). She starts to almost gag when you try to get her to take it and she pushes it out with her tongue. On a few occasions, she has taken the avent air one for a minute or two and actually sucked on it. We’d really like for her to start using pacifiers for soothing since it seems that it would be beneficial for her, but we can’t figure it out! Has anyone else experience this??? Any tips of what to try? Brands or techniques? Thanks!
