Bringing 2 bags to the hospital?

Question

The bag I packed is a weekender bag, basically a large canvas purse.  Everything fit in but it is jam packed.  Would it be ridiculous if I brought 2 bags?  Pack the weekender one for myself and the diaper bag for baby?  Sorry if it’s a dumb question, this is my first baby and I don’t want to do anything wrong.

I’m bringing one bag but it’s ginormous. 2 is probably good if they’re both smallish because I’ve been told you will want extra space for all the stuff the hospital sends you home with.

My hospital recommended packing two bags, one for labor and one for recovery. That way you’re not lugging up a huge bag while in labor bc your partner can always go back out to the car later for the other one after delivery. It also helps keep things organized.

It's not crazy at all. A little advice though, I'm having my third baby and I over packed both times. This time im packing light because I didn't use most of what I packed last two births. You really won't need that much for you or for baby. They supply most of what you need.

Absolutely not crazy! I have 2 bags for me and 1 for the baby. My bag wouldnt hold all my clothes and toiletries. Better to be over prepared in my opinion!

I’m bringing a duffle for myself, a tote for baby (includes my breast pump so the lactation specialist can help me), and a duffle for my husband (or rather he will likely be carrying all three of these haha). 
Every hospital is different but when we toured ours they seemed to think nothing of people bringing lots of stuff.  I’ve packed snacks. I’ve read online some women will bring a pillow and even a blanket from home. 
I’d rather have two sets of clothes and nightgowns, all my travel toiletries, extra baby stuff, etc than not enough and have to send someone to get something.

I have a bag with my clothes and a bag with all my extra stuff like chargers my laptop deodorant makeup and then the babys diaper bag! Do what makes you feel comfortable there is no right or wrong

Baby and I have separate bags. She has one with all her things and I have a big bag with both mine and my husbands stuff.

I just had my baby on Sunday and I honestly hardly touched anything in my bags. I used my toiletries for when it was shower time and my lactation consultant went over how to use my pump with me. Other than that, the hospital had everything. They supplied diapers/wipes/cream and anything else for baby. They had the mesh underwear and maxi pads for me. I switched to the diapers I bought on the second day when we were discharged. Clothes for me, clothes for baby, toiletries, and a towel where my favorite things lol we packed a lot and just ended up not using it. 
However, yes I think 2 bags should be perfectly fine. For the simple fact that all the stuff you get to take with you from the hospital will take up a little room. So might as well have two bags with some extra room in it! Good luck and wishing you a safe and easily delivery!
