Is a cafeteria a real thing?

Quick question, is a cafeteria like in the movies a real thing? Like, you all get the same food in those trays and all eat on those round tables together?

Cafeterias are real but people rarely all have the same thing. My school cafeteria served a different meal each day, but they have other things you can get too. You can get pizza, chicken nuggets, and other stuff. I don’t buy lunch though. But the tables are round and there are trays lol

The cafeteria at my high school had long tables but it had different choices of food each day. Usually the same choices but you could get different stuff each day. I always took my lunch outside though.
