How long is "spotting" supposed to last?

I just got my copper IUD inserted on Nov 15, and immediately got my period the day after. My period should have been done on Nov 22. I find random discharge that is thickish, sticky, and sometimes jelly-like consistency with traces of blood (I think it's blood bc it's a clear, diluted looking red/orange/light brown color), but not a lot of blood, only a teeny tiny bit of it. Not sure if this is spotting.

Anyways, how long is "spotting" supposed to last? The doctor said to expect it, but it's been almost 2 weeks...
