Hidden twin?

I'm 18 weeks and I have had 2 ultrasounds ready (the last one was at 13 weeks) and all found one baby. Last night I was listening with my home doppler and I think I heard 2 separate heartbeats... I know I found my own, but I also found 2 faster ones...one was 145, the other more like 135, and at one point I heard the 2 fast ones overlapping at the same time. I am in no way an expert- this is my first baby- but I'm just wondering what are the chances that they missed a twin??

My last appointment at my doctors she used the Doppler and the first heartbeat she found she said was the placenta.

I doubt they would miss a twin at 13 weeks but you never know. It could also possibly be the blood floe through the placenta/cord you are hearing

I think another girl on this app said they found a hidden twin at her 18 week appointment (missed it with her two other ultrasounds) so I’m going to say it’s possible they missed it. However, it could just be the placenta. If you’re panicked just go to a place you can pay for an ultrasound and let them know you think a twin might be there so they can double check. I was able to get a same day appointment at an ultrasound place nearby when my OB couldn’t fit me in for a few weeks.

Do both heart beats sound the same? The one associated with the placenta sounds more swooshy in my experience :)
