Can I ask my obgyn to check if I’m dilating ?

Can I ask my doctor to check my cervix ???  I’m 30+ weeks and I have a feeling this baby wants to come already I had some contractions earlier this weeks and I am walking like a peguen I feel so much pressure  a lot of back pain

Sure, you can ask her anything. Worse case they say no and explain why.

You can ask but don’t be too disappointed if she says no. Most doctors don’t like to do cervical checks this early unless necessary bc they don’t want to disturb your cervix.

With my first, I was checked at around 38 weeks, started contracting the very next day, and gave birth 2 days later. I’m convinced that “check” got the ball rolling.

With my first baby, I had a few contractions that woke me up from sleeping and my OB didn’t feel it was necessary to check. My office won’t check until 39 weeks. 
You can certainly ask. Honestly it’s very painful to get checked though.

None of that sounds like signs you'll be dilated for sure. Specially if this is your first. So you can ask. But don't be upset if they say the risk isnt worth it yet.
Even after going into early labor (which they stopped) at 34 weeks with my first. And constant back to back Braxton Hicks before and after that. When I hit true labor on due date, I had zero dilation.
