First round of IVF - feedback?

Question

Hey ladies,
So I had my first egg retrieval yesterday and I ended up with 15 eggs (pretty good I thought). However, this morning I got my day 1 update that 7 were mature, and only 4 of those fertilized. Does anyone know what the chances are that all 4 will make it to day 6? I really hope I didn't do this all for nothing😔 Any feedback or shared experiences would be great🤞🏼
P.s. I'm 28 years old with a slightly diminished ovarian reserve

I was 30 at retrieval, first round. No issues on my side, that we know of, other than 1 tube. But we had 29 eggs retrieved and got the call that ZERO fertilized by next day. Devastation is an understatement. So they performed rescue ICSI, and they got 5 to fertilize, But only one made it to day 5/6 (however you look at it) and frozen. We did not do genetic testing. And she’s 5 1/2 months old!! ❤️ Keep the faith, it was hard to hear it only takes 1, but it really is the truth! Good luck 😊

I’m 28 as well. Had 12 eggs retrieved, 9 fertilized, 5 made it to day 5/6 and I had PGS testing just for my peace of mine. Of those 5, 4 came back genetically normal 😊 good luck! 💕🤞

I had four fertilize and two made it to day 6. So you’re definitely not out! But it sucks and I’m sorry.

Can’t really say how it will go every egg is different. I had my retrieval a few weeks ago we got 23 eggs 21 fertilized then after the blast stage we ended with 6 embryos, we will be transferring 2 in January.

Hi! I came to say all you need is one. The number that make it to the next stage is dependent on a lot of factors, and you can’t tell based off of someone else’s numbers. I know someone who only got one egg and her baby is now a year old. I know it can be tough to see people comment here that they got more eggs than you did. I remember seeing the 21, 23 retrieved after my retrieval and feeling like I didn’t have enough, but it’s the quality of the eggs that matters not how many you get. You aren’t going to have 15 kids right? Good luck!!

I had a retrieval on Saturday and I had 8 retrieved, 8 mature, 5 fertilize and 2 make it to day 5. I know how you feel. This was my second cycle. I will only have two frozen in total. I’m 31 and we want at least 3 kids. We may have to do another round.

I had 18 retrieved 15 were Mature 
14/15 fertilized day 2 
By day 4 I had 4 that looked excellent and 2 that looked good. 
By day 5 they were able to biopsy and freeze 4 and day 6 they were able to biopsy and freeze 2 more. I had Pgs testing done and out of my 6 only 3 came back normal I had 
2 Day 5 AB girls and 1 Day 6 Boy CC. 
So it just depends I hear so many different stories my first transfer worked and I’m currently 7w1d so it is definitely quality over quantity it just takes one really good one! 
As I’ve heard ladies who have 10pgs normal but they don’t stick or make it because they are poorer quality.

I had 16 retrieved 9 mature and fertilized I ended up with 3 but not til day 6 and 7. It was nerve racking to say the least. I believe you’ll get some it’s a roller coaster I know...

Honestly, I think it’s really hard to know. Egg quality varies so much. You have age on your side, so keeping my fingers crossed for you.
