Any breastfed babies start solids yet?

Question

My Dr recommended we wait until 6 months but baby girl has been drinking a lot more bottles while I'm away, and seem to be very interested in my food lol. Is it okay to try at 5 months?

My baby’s dr gave the go ahead at 4 months and we tried it once a day for 3 days and baby was having so much tummy issues and was refusing to nurse so we stopped and are probably going to wait till closer to 6 months now.

It still surprises me that US doctors recommended weaning as early as 4 months still! They’re so behind the curve since most other doctors seemed to have updated practises and guidelines along with current research. 
Anyways, I’m not comfortable starting solids with the risk he’ll develop conditions or allergies due to it being too early. I’ve got a weaning class next week so I’ll see what they advise then, but otherwise I plan to start a week before he turns 6 months at the most.

We just tried, ped told us 5 months was ok to start. But she’s definitely not ready! She kept gagging and crying when I tried to give her some. We are going to wait until 6 months and just put some purée on her high chair for her to touch and see if she’ll put any in her mouth.

Yep! We got the OK at his 4 month appointment. We’ve introduced avocado, sweet potatoes and a baby cereal. We’re going to carrots or bananas next. He hasn’t got purées every day so we’re slowly introducing food. A new one every 4 days is what we’re trying to follow.

My pediatrician okd us at her 4 month appointment. Did your doctor recommend waiting because they thibjnits better to wait until 6 months or because your baby isnt ready? I would recommend calling your pediatrician before giving solids.
Mine asked me a bunch if questions and had her do certain things to see if she was ready and she passed all of them but she said most 4 month olds  dont. So I would call beforehand just in case.

My son is in the same boat, but he doesn’t sit up 100% well enough on his own yet (he wobbles and leans forward a lot) so I’m just waiting until he’s sitting up good and then starting.

I did at 4 months with ped approval but she’s had some tummy issues so we’re waiting longer
