Darker nipples?

Hey guys I was just wondering when you got darker nipples. I’ve been reading that it can happen really early on in the pregnancy and mine haven’t darken yet. Is this normal?

I noticed mine getting darker very quickly, it might have been one of my first symptoms. I’m only 8 weeks and it’s noticeable now (my husband has noticed too). I’d say I started noticing a difference around 5/6 weeks. My areolas have also started expanding! But they were kinda small to start with. I also have medium/light brown skin so I wonder if the darkening speed is related to how much melanin you already have in your skin 🤷🏽‍♀️

I feel like mine gradually got darker and darker over time rather than overnight or at any particular point. They’re super dark now and I’m close to 39 weeks. But you could end up having a totally different experience than me or someone else, as far as bodily changes go (nipples, stretch marks, weight gain/loss, bump size, etc). Everyone is different so try not to worry about comparing. Your body will do what it’s meant to!
