Are you guilty of “wishcycling”? (see description for what it is)

Wishcycling is when you put something questionable into the recycling bin and just hope it works out. Could be something you’re not sure is recyclable, a container that’s not rinsed out or otherwise contaminated (like a cardboard pizza box with cheese on the lid), or something made of mixed materials where some part isn’t recyclable. People feel good about themselves for recycling but they’d actually have been better off just throwing the thing in the trash because enough contamination in a load of recycling can cause the whole load to have to be disposed of as trash.

Not sure how “controversial” this is, but I just learned about it recently (and admit I’ve been guilty of it) and wondering what others think.
