Anyone a preschool aide ?

Hey , 
   I think I may be pregnant and I am concerned as a teachers aide I may be required to lift children or things such as cots . Plus with cleaning up toys how can I keep myself and the baby  safe  with this position? Any other pregnant (or possible pregnant ) teacher preschool aide ?)

Unless your doctor gives you specific restrictions, you are fine. Especially if its your daily duty that you are used to doing.

I worked at a church daycare weekly with the 3 and younger group. I quit around the beginning of my third trimester because of how much my back would hurt after bending and lifting so much. My little dude is very low and out from my body so my weight imbalance was pretty dramatic. I'd give you the same advice I was given which is listen to your body and rest as much as you can.

Anything you were physically able to do before pregnancy, like lift preschool aged children, you can do during pregnancy unless your doctor says otherwise. Just use extra hygiene precautions around the little ones since your immune system isn’t as strong while pregnant and you will be fine.

I lift my 35lb toddler daily and continue with all activities that I did prior to getting pregnant..you’re fine unless you have a medical condition and your dr tells you not to.

I have with all my pregnancies and never really required any special accommodations. If doing something is painful, then don't do it, but otherwise you should be fine in terms of positions while cleaning and playing with kids. You can also ask your doctor if there's anything you should specifically avoid.

I was with my first child, and then it’s are fine they don’t weigh much if anything at all. For changing my director added a staircase for the children to climb up and down to the changing table when I was alone.
