Induction with no epidural?

Question

Any mamas have stories of induction that didn't end up requiring an epidural? 
Induction next week and so upset because I wanted to at least attempt a natural birth 😒

I was induced multiple times.. Epidural or pain meds are not required. They will ask if you would like pain relief you can just decline..

Both labors induced. First was so painful and long. Cervidil and Pitocin and i did get and epidural. Second they used cryotec and labor went way quicker. By the time contractions were getting almost unbearable, i would of had to wait an hr for epidural and they were gonna start Pitocin. In half hr dilated the rest of the 5cm to fully and no time for Pitocin or epidural. That labor was awesome compared to first.

I had a wonderful induction due to cholestasis at 36+3. They did two rounds of misoprostal 4 hours apart, starting at 8:30am. During that I would say my pain level was a 1, just like the mildest period cramps. When that was finished I was 3cm and 70% effaced so they started pitocin. Pain was still maybe a 2. After 6 hours of pitocin, just hanging out talking/eating etc... I was 4cm and 70% effaced but contractions were finally coming pretty regularly so they broke my waters at 11:30pm. From there labor picked up quickly, within 15 mins I was going through transition. It was certainly painful and contractions were on top of one another, and around 12:45am I asked for an epidural because I hadn’t slept in 2 days. I could’ve kept managing the pain I was likely already 9cm so I wouldn’t have gotten the epidural if I had been checked, but I was utterly exhausted and didn’t know how I would have the strength to push without a nap. I laid down with a peanut ball and took a short nap but by 1:20am I was ready to push! I ended up with a retained placenta so I am so so thankful I got the epidural because they had to do a manual extraction which I guess is way more painful than birth, but they were able to give me more medication so that it wasn’t so bad!

Epidurals aren’t required for an induction. I was induced with my son and didn’t get the epidural.

I’ve never gotten and epidural with either kid. I do natural only ice chips. With #2 I was induced, and I’m not going to lie the pain was crazy b it my amazing husband helped me through.

I had a pitocin induction with no meds. It was 9 hours and the tub helped so much once I had active labor.

I had an epidural but I didn’t get it until I was in labor for about 16 hours. There was no end in sight (ended up being about 30) and I knew if I didn’t rest I wouldn’t be able to push her out. I felt though that if I had made progress faster I would have been fine without it. You can do it!

Hell no needed it lol induction contractions are no joke. I was only 2cm and my contractions were coming every 30 seconds. I had no time to even take a deep breath.
