Gross motor delay

Hailey

My daughter is almost 11.5 months and has almost no transition skills (sitting to laying down, standing to sitting, sitting to standing, etc.). She can roll, sit by herself, stand up holding onto our hands or furniture. But cannot get herself into any of these positions. She lacks upper body strength and can only push-up while on her tummy for a few seconds (but now she just rolls over instead). My paediatrician wasn’t concerned at her 9 month appointment so I took it upon myself to take her to a physiotherapist.

We’ve been doing physio for a few months now and it’s somewhat helped, but not worth the money. We have a local “baby gym” called Gymboree that offers classes and just open gym time with their equipment to work on gross motor skills. We signed up today and I’m excited to go a few times a week to hopefully see improvement.

Does anyone else’s baby have gross motor delay? Or anyone have experience with it? I try really really hard to not worry about it more than I have to. But every day I fear that there is something more wrong and nobody is taking me seriously. At her 12 month appointment I am going to demand more testing or a referral somewhere.
