Unwanted gifts

Beebee

We went to visit fiance's aunt and her family. And decided to give my LO's xmas gifts as Dec. 6 (Santa's gift) and she is getting other xmas gifts. We said, please don't. They even asked what she needs and we said at the moment nothing. A gift card or money is much more appreciated and we can get her things we like.

One was a jumper that was huge, which is ok and the other one a blowup unicorn for up to 3yrs, with the spiky ears and unicorn, it's dangerous for a poke in the eye or mouth. I told my fiance we should give it to his niece who is 1.5yrs. He said his aunt will throw a fit if she finds out. I have told everyone no more clothes as gifts and for toys she's still so young. I honestly hate having useless material stuff around the house, I only get stuff if really needed. I can't stand that stupid unicorn laying around now.

Do you welcome any type of gifts? Would it be rude not to accept one?
