Hypothyroidism

Alex

I’m beyond upset right now... when I found out I was pregnant I wanted to get my thyroid checked as I have history of hypothyroidism and am on meds for it.

My regular doctor ordered the lab and even though I told her I was pregnant, she ordered the general TSH. It was slightly elevated, but when I had my first OB appt the dr said it was ‘normal’. I’ve been asking for a redraw first awhile now, and finally has it drawn 2 days ago by my midwife. She ordered TSH, pregnancy (different levels and ranges). My levels are off the charts!

I didn’t know that the dr ordered the wrong lab originally until I just looked back.

I am so upset, this could have effects in my baby and this whole time they’ve been passing it off as normal.

I’ve been extremely fatigued, losing hair, and feeling low and it just gets passed off as ‘normal pregnancy’ stuff. They screwed up big time.

I haven’t gotten any sleep tonight because now I’m just worried about my baby. pregnancy #3 I’m 12 weeks along.

Can anyone give me any reassurance that’s been through this?
