What to expect

My husband and I have been Ttc for 15 months and I have an infertility appointment at the end of the month. I don't know what I should expect? Do they just ask questions or run test too and how long does it take to start treatment if needed????

They typically will take blood, do an ultrasound to see where you are in your cycle and then you'll meet with the doctor who will set up a plan for you....usually they start you on clomid if there's an ovulating issue...it all depends on what the issue is

Just went to our first visit. It was mostly just questions and history taking. We had an ultrasound (vaginal) and discussed labs. We moved forward with labs and were assigned to collect a semen sample for analysis. I put a lot of emphasis on that visit and was very nervous. I guess I expected to have to defend my desire or worthiness to conceive in a way.  Or that I would get some terrible diagnosis or news.  It was way low key and I wished I hadn't stressed so much.  Good luck to you!

The ultrasound is transvaginal! Just a heads up. I was expecting one that just presses on your stomach when I went to my first appointment... ?
