What does your progesterone shot routine look like?

Heat?
Put the pets away?
Bandaids? 
Walk around the block?
Do you have a helper?
How long does it tend to take?
I’m curious how everyone preps/posts night after night...

I put the vial in a blanket and then sit on it! 😂. wait a few minutes. Draw up the med. then I find a spot that’s good and basically dart it in. It takes me a good minute to inject. I have 1 inch needles and 25 gauge. So it’s slow. Then I just rub it around. Go about my business for a bit and then I’ll sit on a heating pad for 15 minutes after I walk around. I found that I have less lumps if I’m active afterwards and dont go straight to the heating pad.

I’m definitely in the minority, but I don’t do anything other than load it up and stick it in. My husband makes sure there’s no vein in the spot I’m injecting, but I prefer to just do it myself. Clean it, bandaid, good to go. 😂

Load the shot-no heat or ice. Hubby injects while I lie down and play on my phone. He rubs the muscle deeply to disperse the oil for a minute or two. We go about our day. It’s not really that bad.

I like to do mine in the morning so I can keep my body moving to help the injection site from hurting later. 
I prep it and stick it between my boobs to warm it up while I get my 4 year old DD ready for school. When she’s all set, my husband comes in and just does the deed and goes to work. I rub it for a few min, throw on a bandaid to help me remember where I did it for next time. No ice, no heat pad. Just body heat. 
I only lie down when I feel sensitive that day. Most of the time I stand up and take the pressure off the leg on injection side.

We just both wash our hands, I get all the supplies ready and lay them out on the bathroom counter, then hubby does the deed. Some days it hurts and others really not at all. Can’t figure out why but I’m guessing it has to do with the location.

I used to make a whole production out of it with ice and everything, but I got sick of it taking so long and didn't really feel it helped anyway. Now, my husband just does the injection while I lay on my stomach and watch tv- making sure my muscle is totally relaxed before doing so. Then, he rubs the area for a couple minutes to help disperse the meds. After that I'll sit on a heating pad for about 10 min which I find soothing, but I try not to go longer than that so I don't raise my body temp.

First I ice the area for about 20 minutes then I give myself the shot then I put a Band-Aid after that I put a heating pad and rub the buttocks for a little while and then I'm done that's it.

We prep the shot and warm it for 10 mins using body heat. Hubby injects the shot while I lay on my side. After it’s completely administered, he rubs the injection site to disperse the oil. It takes about 5-7 mins. No biggie 😁

I’m taking about 3-4 injections a day at present! I always have to ice each area for 10 minutes. I’m getting better at doing my own injections, but I can’t do the lentogest. My husband does that injection. That involves an extremely thick needle!

Thanks all for your responses! The first week of my shots seemed super simple/generally painless. My husband preps the shot and I lay on the couch, ice the spot for like 1 min, and apply a little heat/massage afterwards. 
Only yesterday, for some reason, the shot was way more painful than usual. I’m wondering if icing more to begin with might help, or walking around more afterwards.....it was so uncomfortable that it has felt like I have a big bruise there all day today. 👎  tonight’s was better thankfully, but I guess maybe they get more uncomfortable as you do it 🤷‍♀️
