Baby’s first (and hopefully only) surgery

Trying not to freak out. My son just went back for a circumcision + hypospadias repair. 😭 I made a post about this awhile back asking for tips and then our surgery was rescheduled—this has seriously been such a fiasco. Had the surgery scheduled for over a month, only for them to call me the day before to say the equipment won’t be here on time. No apologies, no explanation, just a new date of two weeks later. Two more weeks for him to possibly get sick and risk the surgery being canceled 😖 Naturally my husband immediately gets a man cold that has lingered for these two weeks. 😒😒😒

Bonus: the surgery is now 9 days before Christmas. The reason we scheduled this for 12/3 was to AVOID surgery around Christmas, but here we are. 😒 THEN it was rescheduled to the hospital instead of the surgery center and nobody told me until the financial gal from the hospital called to give me an estimate, a $2,000+ higher estimate than my original estimate from the surgery center. Hospital fees, you know. 🙄 Even though he wouldn’t be spending the night at the hospital. $2,000 more. It took me two days of calling around to finally get ahold of someone who could switch the surgery back to the surgery center. Such a cluster....

To add another layer of stress to my already fried nerves, I just found out last week that I’m pregnant again. So here I am, sitting in the waiting room, a hot mess of feelings, trying not to cry while they put my baby under anesthesia and begin a 2-3+ hour surgery. The sound of him crying as the nurse anesthetist took him down the hallway will probably haunt me forever. 😞
