Membrane Sweep worth it at 38 +4 ?

Thoughts on getting a membrane sweep to move things along for second pregnancy? I have my upcoming appt on Wednesday for 38 and a half weeks. Had two before with my 1st and they didn’t help at all so I’m not sure if it’s worth it this time! It was very painful for me when I had them last so I’m a bit leary. 😳😱

Do it!
It’s like 5 seconds of suck, but it worked for me. Apt was at 11am went into L&D at 8:30pm with contractions 1-2min aprt. 
Note to add, this was my 2nd baby, and I was 3cm an 80% and soooooo over it  totally checked out and DONE!!

Didn’t work for me at 1cm at 50% 
Also didn’t hurt but I totally think it’s worth it . Why not?

Got mine done today at 38+5 and 1cm and 100% effaced. Definitely hurt for a few seconds but now just some mild cramps and spotting. Fingers crossed it works. Otherwise induction in 5 days. So either way he is coming out this week!!!!!

I had it done with my first. It didnt work. This time my dr did it and baby was here 9 hours later after only 9 minutes of pushing.

Just an update I had it done yesterday and for a second time mom didn’t hurt nearly as much as it did with my first pregnancy! 
Losing my mucus plug now and just waiting on labor to start here!!

I had one with my first pregnancy when I was 39 weeks. How dilated and thinned out are you? I feel like that plays a big part in whether or not the sweep will work because it’s an indicator of how ready your body is to go into labor. When I had mine I was having contractions as soon as I left the doctors office and ended up returning later that night to give birth so it definitely worked for me, but also definitely hurt getting it done lol. There’s only about a 20% chance of a membrane sweep working and sending you into labor and even then it’s usually after the second or third one.

My 39 weeks appointment is this Wednesday and my doctor said she would do one… I’m trying to figure out whether or not to do it as well 🤔. ￼FTM🤷🏼‍♀️
